This oval covered jar is 7" wide, 4" deep and 6" high (top of boat knob). It is a slab built piece. The outside has an overall impressed pattern, with a center panel featuring a crashing wave scene. The overall texture is washed with a yellow ceramic stain which is wiped back from the high places. Note the Ancient Jasper glaze. This piece is part of the ocean going boat series. This piece is high fired stoneware. It is one of a kind, although I make this shape and pigment/glaze combination often. A great accent piece.
